Setting the Benchmark: Core Data Set for IYS

There is a lack of consistency in the collection and evaluation of indicators, measures, and metrics across integrated youth services (IYS). This lack of common individual and program-level data sets leads to limitations in data integration across settings, poor consistency in the monitoring and evaluation of IYS, as well as minimal program transparency and accountability.

Issues

There is a lack of consistency in the collection and evaluation of indicators, measures, and metrics across integrated youth services (IYS). This lack of common individual and program-level data sets leads to limitations in data integration across settings, poor consistency in the monitoring and evaluation of IYS, as well as minimal program transparency and accountability.

Solutions
  • A core minimum evaluation protocol (measures, metrics, and indicators)
  • Development of an open online community to share measures and contexts of care
  • Knowledge mobilization of findings
Impact
  • Collection and integration of consistent data on shared indicators across
  • IYS settings globally
  • Improvement in the monitoring and evaluation of IYS and their effects on clients health outcomes
  • Advancement of knowledge regarding the effectiveness of services within varying contexts
